Seeing Ads

There are so many things I hope to catch you all up on really soon, but I first want to address the obvious new change to my site.

You’re now seeing ads.
Assuming I set everything up correctly.

The setup was not as easy as a click, click, done like I was expecting. I have already spent around 3 hours reading how to properly code a couple things, then watched videos on how to do that because I didn’t understand what I was reading, and then tinkered with what I felt comfortable tinkering, which was all of just lowering the number of ads on a page.

I have mixed feelings about putting adverts on here and I may very well remove them after a trial run. I personally don’t mind seeing web advertisements on other sites since they’re so ubiquitous and commonplace, except for those recipe blogs that are completely overrun with them. I fucking hate those blogs.

I don’t want my site to take 30 seconds to load or look worse than it already does. Hopefully, I’ll be able to blend the ads into the foundation of my domain rather than looking like unsightly blobs as I learn more about AdSense. Until then, my deepest apologies for pop up ad occurrences because I don’t know how to turn those off.

The story of how and why this came about will have to be for another post. I know, I’m racking up a lot of overdue updates, but this one will go hand in hand with the very past due post on career talk.

Not to give away more spoilers, or pressure myself, but I want to place some focus on revamping the site a little before the year is over. She’s coming up on 2 years strong and deserves some blush and mascara, especially with the addition of potentially hideous adverts. Also, I’m pretty sure the About Me section says I’m 34, which is… correct.
Regardless, I’m due to rewrite that section.

This should be pretty manageable as I anticipate having more free time by the end of August.
SO MANY SPOILS.
